#IndyDonutDay

I woke up and completed the first Twitter scroll of the day. I discovered the trending hashtag, "#IndyDonutDay." I immediately texted Leah because I knew that she would be just as, if not more, excited as I was. So, Leah picked me up and after a few errands for Granny, she, Aunt T, and myself traveled downtown to the Fountain Square area to celebrate this glorious day at the Great American Donut Company. We walked in and after staring at the available options, Leah exclaimed, "I want the weirdest one." Typical. She chose the maple bourbon bacon donut. I got the toasted coconut. Aunt T got the raspberry lime glaze. We got the smores donut for Granny. After Leah and I inhaled our donuts, we happily agreed to finish off Aunt T's. A perfect way to enjoy #IndyDonutDay!

All followed by a trip to Trader Joes. Highlights include: frozen bananas, sunflowers, cookie butter, and bacon jam. Yes, BACON JAM.

An impromptu trip to the Children's Museum (against mom's will) happened next. Free admission allowed for carousal rides, access to exhibits and photo-ops that proved we were way too old for the Children's Museum. We couldn't leave without buying an overpriced cookie...

This "jump-into-summer" kind of day culminated at the first outdoor mall concert of the season. Little did we know that it was "head banger night..." (Side note: Leah dropped the cheese on the pavement, leaving us with no more snacks.) We all decided that the concert series can only improve following the below average "Rock of Ages..."

Here's to countless more summer days just as great as #IndyDonutDay!

Keep Bitin'!
